Trat Sailing Fest 2015 is being launched for the first time to attract high-end travellers, looking for luxury beach holiday experience. The event will highlight yachting activities through the islands of Trat in the Gulf of Thailand, featuring islands feature unspoiled coral reefs and colourful schools of fish as well as spectacular scenery, and a photo contest.
Located about 315 kilometers east of Bangkok, Trat serves as a launching point for visitors to its 52 large and small islands, including those of Mu Ko Chang Marine National Park, whose long, white, sandy beaches have made Ko Chang one of Thailand’s top ‘get away from it all’ island destinations.
Bangkok Airways has daily air services between Bangkok and Trat. From the Trat airport (not far from the ferry pier in Laem Ngop), there are numerous transportation options for transferring to Ko Chang and other islands.

The 10-day Festival will be celebrating 156 anniversary of Phra Nakhon Khiri with a range of impressive and fun-filled events, including a spectacular procession, traditional Khon masked dance performances, beauty pageant and Thai folk dance contests, fireworks display, music concerts and stage shows.
Phra Nakorn Khiri, locally known as Khao Wang – Palace Hill, was built under the royal command of King Rama IV on the mountain ranges of Khao Samana or Khao Mahai Sawan. The whole compound comprises royal houses, temples, pagodas, and an observatory. It combines the elegance of Thai, Chinese and western Neo-classic architectural styles. Nowadays, Phra Nakorn Khiri is a historical park and is open to public.
